COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

Motiv is seeking a hard-working, creative, and motivated college junior or senior intern to work remotely. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in Public Relations tied to entertainment, video games, fandom/geek culture, emerging technology, corporate communications, and pop culture. This is a remote position and a computer, web camera and a solid internet connection is required. The selected intern will be expected to dedicate five to ten hours a week, and will have access to weekly one-on-one learning sessions with the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and update media lists

• Create or update databases

• Assist in researching new media opportunities for print, online, and broadcast (TV, radio)

• Scan for, track and curate press clippings

• Draft internal and external memos, letters, agendas, meeting recaps, reports and other documents as requested

• General media research 

• Creative brainstorming of ideas

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Currently enrolled Junior to Senior-level undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or a related field are strongly preferred 

• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are essential

• Basic understanding of Public Relations, traditional and digital media

• Working knowledge of Google Suite

• A passion for storytelling and narrative creation 

• Strong sense of creativity, strategic thinking and innovation (imagination!)

• An interest in digital media, emerging technologies and cutting edge entertainment

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• A passion for nerd, geek, and pop culture
